Sollebrunn IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Brander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tom Thedin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Mikaelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Filip Albom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sollebrunn IFK's Wiktor Ivarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmie Eklund in the 37th minute of play. Jimmie Eklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wiktor Ivarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimmie Eklund ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute, Filip Albom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Rune Mikaelsson notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Ståfräs's Tom Thedin. Tom Thedin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rune Mikaelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sollebrunn IFK's Martin Wikander got a free kick in the 51st minute. FC Ståfräs were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Sollebrunn IFK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Allan Söderberg took the corner. Bertil Lindgren was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Jimmie Eklund struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. In the 84th match minute, Sollebrunn IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Wikander to maneuver through the defense.
