The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mårten Ekström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Dan Björkdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hannes Kjellman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Mårten Ekström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Domstens IK's Mårten Ekström got control of the ball when Hannes Kjellman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute, Hannes Kjellman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mårten Ekström was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Dan Björkdahl sped through Kyrkhult RK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Yngve Vassenius. 24 minutes into the game, Algot Blom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Domstens IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kyrkhult RK the free kick. In the 24th minute, Algot Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hannes Kjellman got free with Mårten Ekström in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kyrkhult RK's Yngve Vassenius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvald Holm in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kyrkhult RK's zone, Sture Forssberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yngve Vassenius came out of the goal and Sture Forssberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ian Käcker made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Dan Björkdahl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Domstens IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Dan Björkdahl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngve Vassenius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Malte Glanselius struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Yngve Vassenius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Domstens IK. Dan Björkdahl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yngve Vassenius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Mårten Ekström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hannes Kjellman in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Morgan Wassenius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dan Björkdahl came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Domstens IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Björkdahl couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Domstens IK's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Kjellman came free, but Mårten Ekström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 73rd minute of the match Algot Blom completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Algot Blom a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 75 minutes into the match, Domstens IK's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Käcker came free, but Mårten Ekström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mårten Ekström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Käcker, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 83 minutes into the game, Malte Glanselius cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Yngve Vassenius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mårten Ekström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hannes Kjellman in the 88th minute of play. Dan Björkdahl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yngve Vassenius having to make a save. After 95 played minutes Domstens IK got a freekick which was hit by Osvald Holm. Domstens IK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
