Spectators: 7270 (Terracing: 5454, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tony Backlund took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Wictor Billström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torgny Utter came out of the goal and Wictor Billström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tony Backlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Tony Backlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Backlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt Groth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 10 minutes of play, Liverpool FC's Jörn Eklund made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bengt Groth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Liverpool FC's Tony Backlund got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the game, Ingmar Carlsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Green & Black Gothenburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool FC the free kick. The supporters of Liverpool FC booed when Green & Black Gothenburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Carlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tony Backlund in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt Groth saved Green & Black Gothenburg from getting behind. If Wictor Billström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wictor Billström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Torgny Utter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Green & Black Gothenburg's goalkeeper Bengt Groth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörn Eklund. Bengt Groth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jörn Eklund in the 39th minute. Bengt Groth made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Jörn Eklund sent off a good shot on target. After 46 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Emil Fors. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wictor Billström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Emil Fors hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Eklund in the 57th minute of play forced Green & Black Gothenburg's goalkeeper Bengt Groth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Green & Black Gothenburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Vennerberg to maneuver through the defense. After 62 minutes of play, Liverpool FC's Jörn Eklund made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bengt Groth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oskar Alebeck kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Jens-Ove Falkrantz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bengt Groth. Green & Black Gothenburg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Green & Black Gothenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Backlund came free, but Bengt Groth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bengt Groth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emil Fors went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 80 minutes into the match, Green & Black Gothenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Backlund came free, but Bengt Groth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jörn Eklund struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Bengt Groth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool FC. Jörn Eklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bengt Groth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Eklund in the 92nd minute of the match. Bengt Groth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Backlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Liverpool FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
