After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Kristian Vennerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green & Black Gothenburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristian Vennerberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jarl Häger made a kick off. Kristian Vennerberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the game, Wictor Billström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tobiasz Dzierwa. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Jarl Häger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Groth. Green & Black Gothenburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarl Häger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Backaryd's Jarl Häger got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Backaryd had won after a very even match.
