Sävsjö IFK's Valentin Överman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Valler in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Eric Nyqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Sävsjö IFK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Orvar Vennerlund fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 26th match minute, Sävsjö IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sten Kilman to maneuver through the defense. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivar Bålström to make the kick off. Orvar Vennerlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Överman having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Orvar Vennerlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Svartsjö's supporters rose to their feet, but Orvar Vennerlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Överman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfred Valler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Valler couldn't finish the play.
