After a defensive mix-up in Sävsjö IFK's zone, Thor Sundin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Överman came out of the goal and Thor Sundin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Wennerlund hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Ralf Erserman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivar Bålström in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Vester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aaron Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin Ståhlberg in the 30th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Sävsjö IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Erserman came free, but Valentin Överman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sävsjö IFK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Ralf Erserman scored to the left of an out of position Valentin Överman, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Sävsjö IFK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Sebastian Ennegren hit a great ball. When Thor Sundin came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Grödinge IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thor Sundin couldn't finish the play. If Ralf Erserman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ivar Bålström made the kick off in the second half. Valentin Överman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingemar Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivar Bålström in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aaron Vester saved Grödinge IFK from getting behind. After 60 minutes, Aaron Ström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grödinge IFK and the Sävsjö IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sävsjö IFK booed when Grödinge IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingemar Nilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
