The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leif Kjellberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harald Aspengren's late challenge caught a Gärds köpinge's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harald Aspengren helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gärds köpinge booed when Älghult FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Aspengren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Edvin Ekegren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Älghult FK booed when Gärds köpinge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Lind didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Lundqvist made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Sven-Edvin Ekegren sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th match minute, Älghult FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Edvin Ekegren to maneuver through the defense. Älghult FK's Jon Vik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Kjellberg in the 20th minute of play. Victor Lind hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Ingvar Björkman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 25th match minute, Gärds köpinge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Ryberg to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Edvin Ekegren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Emil Lundqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Arne Haegg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gärds köpinge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 36 minutes into the game, Robert Bennet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Älghult FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gärds köpinge the free kick. Robert Bennet kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Arne Haegg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Vik having to interfere. Älghult FK's Jon Vik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Haegg in the 44th minute of play. Jon Vik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Haegg in the 47th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Älghult FK's Harald Aspengren got a free kick in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Arne Haegg made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Gärds köpinge's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Ekegren came free, but Emil Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Örjan Hellström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Lundqvist having to interfere. Emil Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Ekegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, Gärds köpinge's Adrian Ryberg got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Örjan Hellström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Älghult FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Örjan Hellström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emil Lundqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sven-Edvin Ekegren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leif Kjellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Älghult FK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
