The audience thought a goal was coming when George Söderlund got free with Sven Mårtensson in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the game, Lennart Kellman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sven Mårtensson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. George Söderlund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sven Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennart Kellman in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven Mårtensson saved Slite from getting behind. George Söderlund in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sven Mårtensson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Slite's Robert Sandberg got a free kick in the 26th minute. Sven Mårtensson made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Söderlund in the 31st minute. Kent Lindblom's late challenge caught a Ball Farters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ralf Biörkman charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Slite's zone, Lennart Kellman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Mårtensson came out of the goal and Lennart Kellman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
