In the 10th minute David Jonsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Stålberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marko Klintæus hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Lidhult's Karl-Magnus Johansson threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jarl Sundberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 17 played minutes Lidhult got a freekick which was hit by George Östensson. The supporters of Grillby booed when Lidhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magne Askberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Jonsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Konrad Berg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Jarl Sundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lidhult's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarl Sundberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Lidhult getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Magne Askberg hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Jonsson made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, David Jonsson made a precise shot to the right of Max Stålberg. Lidhult's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Kenny Igelström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Jonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Max Stålberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Per-Oskar Runeberg hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Grillby were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Lidhult's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Per-Arne Vassenius took the corner. Grillby's Per-Arne Vassenius was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Max Stålberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 72nd minute, Konrad Berg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Max Stålberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Max Stålberg made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Konrad Berg sent off a good shot on target. Karl-Magnus Johansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Vesterberg in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Jarl Sundberg notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Grillby's Karl-Magnus Johansson. Karl-Magnus Johansson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Konrad Berg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 played minutes Lidhult got a freekick which was hit by Per-Oskar Runeberg. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Grillby walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
