Gällivare's Helge Björnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 12 played minutes The Harriot Club got a freekick which was hit by Niklas Ståhlman. A hard shot 15 in the game by Dennis Holmstedt from a close distance when the talented Kim Mossberg managed to make a qualified save. The Harriot Club's players were relieved. If Alf Kvick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Holmstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Kim Mossberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, The Harriot Club's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Björnberg came free, but Kim Mossberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Dennis Holmstedt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sven-Ove Josefsson's late challenge caught a The Harriot Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Ove Josefsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of The Harriot Club booed when Gällivare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Ove Josefsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uno Ålberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andy Lindblom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uno Ålberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Uno Ålberg struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Andy Lindblom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Harriot Club. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alf Kvick was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes The Harriot Club got a freekick which was hit by Marc Tingelholm. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Dennis Holmstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gällivare's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Holmstedt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kim Mossberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alf Kvick struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Andy Lindblom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Harriot Club. Uno Ålberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kim Mossberg came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Gällivare's Dennis Holmstedt. But to his dismay, Dennis Holmstedt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 75 minutes into the match, Gällivare's goalkeeper Andy Lindblom had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uno Ålberg. Albert Martinsson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Kim Mossberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Holmstedt in the 84th minute of the match. Uno Ålberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Yngve Stenman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gällivare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Harriot Club the free kick. Yngve Stenman kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Dennis Holmstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Kim Mossberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gällivare fans cheered their team off the field, for while The Harriot Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
