Skillingaryd's Jan-Erik Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Arne Melander in the 8th minute of play. Henning Bergman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Jan-Erik Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Börje Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. Östmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Jernberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richard Jernberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Bernt Kielstedt was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. Sven-Arne Melander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sven-Arne Melander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fredrik Vester fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skillingaryd's protests and gave Fredrik Vester a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Skillingaryd getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Fredrik Vester hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Östmark players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
