Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Erik Jönsson started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Oskar Lundqvist in the 7th minute of play forced MalmensFF's goalkeeper Gottfrid Engman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Kullander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gottfrid Engman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, MalmensFF's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Oskar Lundqvist came free, but Gottfrid Engman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Linköping FK's Karl-Oskar Lundqvist in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MalmensFF's goalie prevented a goal. Arne Holmberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gottfrid Engman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gottfrid Engman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Oskar Lundqvist in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Oskar Lundqvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Linköping FK's Gunnar Mårtensson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. MalmensFF's Arne Holmberg came free and shot a quick shot against goal 53 minutes in the game, fortunately Jonas Smed had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Olof Pihlwall kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. David Kullander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, MalmensFF's goal looked a bit too open when David Kullander came free, but Gottfrid Engman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Kullander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gottfrid Engman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Kullander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Engman having to interfere. After having played for 75 minutes, Karl-Oskar Lundqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköping FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Oskar Lundqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gottfrid Engman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Oskar Lundqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, David Kullander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linköping FK's supporters rose to their feet, but David Kullander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gottfrid Engman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arne Holmberg got free with Jonas Smed in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the game, Sune Jespersson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Linköping FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MalmensFF the free kick. In the 84th minute, Sune Jespersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Timmy Karlstedt in the 85th minute of play was well struck, but Jonas Smed made a really good save at the right post. In the 89th minute David Kullander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gottfrid Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Linköping FK's David Kullander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gottfrid Engman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After having played for 98 minutes, Karl-Oskar Lundqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköping FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Oskar Lundqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Linköping FK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
