When Östen Palmquist fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beppie Boys's protests and gave Östen Palmquist a yellow card for diving instead. Östen Palmquist hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Sven-Arne Vallman's shot from long distance in the 23rd minute was not bad at all, but Beppie Boys's Fabian Bogren knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Boris Granström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sverker Hult, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Stig-Ove Holmstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Fagersta bruk got a freekick which was hit by Hampus Ålberg. If Sverker Hult had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stig-Ove Holmstedt to strike the kick off in the second half. Boris Granström didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Stig-Ove Holmstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Boris Granström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Boris Granström successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Beppie Boys's Fabian Bogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Villiam Lundgren in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Sven-Ove Bennet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Villiam Lundgren in the 71st minute of play forced Beppie Boys's goalkeeper Fabian Bogren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Villiam Lundgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Bogren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fagersta bruk's Boris Granström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Ove Holmstedt in the 77th minute of play. Fabian Bogren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Bennet in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute Villiam Lundgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Bogren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 95th minute of the match Östen Palmquist completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Östen Palmquist a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Sven-Ove Bennet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabian Bogren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Beppie Boys eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
