Hammar RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Åke Deckberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bo Lund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Berg in the 9th minute of play. When Nicklas Åström came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Hammar RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicklas Åström couldn't finish the play. Sven-Åke Deckberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Åke Jonasson having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Sven-Åke Deckberg made a precise shot to the right of Åke Jonasson. Nynäshamn RK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sven-Åke Deckberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Åke Jonasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Åke Jonasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Åke Deckberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Nynäshamn RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammar RK the free kick. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rune Berg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ernst Lundqvist spun around in front of the goal 59 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Hammar RK's goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Nicklas Åström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Birger Abrahamsson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Hammar RK's goal looked a bit too open when Rune Berg came free, but Bo Lund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernst Lundqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Lund having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hammar RK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
