Spectators: 6674 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 0) Jack Eklund made the kick off and thus started the match. Åke Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Jansson in the 5th minute of play. Åke Björling came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Båstad's Tony Bergkvist. But to his dismay, Tony Bergkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mathias Hedberg's late challenge caught a Motala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Hedberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute, Mathias Hedberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dick Danielsson during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Bergkvist scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Åke Björling, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dick Danielsson kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute of the match Karl-Johan Wennerlund shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Åke Björling showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anton Åberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomas Ahlin. Båstad's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Båstad's zone, Reine Wallander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Ahlin came out of the goal and Reine Wallander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sigvard Bern kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jack Eklund got free with Tomas Ahlin in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the game, Reine Wallander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Motala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Båstad the free kick. Reine Wallander hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Motala's Åke Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Bergkvist in the 36th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anton Åberg got free with Tomas Ahlin in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sigvard Bern kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Anton Åberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motala's supporters rose to their feet, but Anton Åberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomas Ahlin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute Simon Kinell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Ahlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åke Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Hedberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Bergkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Båstad got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Hedberg. When Reine Wallander came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Motala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reine Wallander couldn't finish the play. Åke Björling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valter Sandström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute of the match Dick Danielsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomas Ahlin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Båstad's zone, Jack Eklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Ahlin came out of the goal and Jack Eklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anton Åberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Ahlin having to interfere. When the final whistle went the supporters of Båstad were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Motala side.
