When Ulf Odman came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Oskarshamns AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulf Odman couldn't finish the play. After having played for 6 minutes, Evert Sjöö managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oskarshamns AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evert Sjöö was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulf Odman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikael Qvalfeldt having to interfere. When Stig-Åke Kruse fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tällberg's protests and gave Stig-Åke Kruse a yellow card for diving instead. Stig-Åke Kruse kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mikael Qvalfeldt made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ulf Odman sent off a good shot on target. Tällberg's Mikael Qvalfeldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Sjöö in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Ulf Odman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mikael Qvalfeldt. Tällberg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulf Odman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Evert Sjöö fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikael Qvalfeldt having to interfere. Oskarshamns AIK's Evert Sjöö got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulf Odman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ulf Odman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Jönsson was the one to do the kick off. Åke Hellkvist's late challenge caught a Tällberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Åke Hellkvist helped the player get up and apologised. With an all-out effort, Tällberg's Egon Söderström threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabian Jönsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Evert Sjöö's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikael Qvalfeldt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tällberg's zone, Evert Sjöö stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikael Qvalfeldt came out of the goal and Evert Sjöö tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Odman in the 61st minute of play forced Tällberg's goalkeeper Mikael Qvalfeldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evert Sjöö recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mikael Qvalfeldt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulf Odman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Evert Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oskarshamns AIK's Ulf Odman got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evert Sjöö sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tällberg's Peder Juhlin got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute, Peder Juhlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulf Odman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Mikael Qvalfeldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Evert Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Oskarshamns AIK had played much better football throughout.
