Oskarshamns AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evert Sjöö was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulf Odman scored 3-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan-Olof Örtendal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bertil Åkerström to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Oskarshamns AIK booed when SpVgg Sauerkraut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position.
