After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan-Erik Liljeström to strike the kick off in the second half. Arne Wik charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sture Palm took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hampus Kihlman. IRAQ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 57th minute, Bengt-Arne Igelström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Holger Rosendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to IRAQ getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Rune Ström hit a great ball. Hampus Kihlman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Algot Stålman in the 65th minute of play. Holger Rosendahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Hampus Kihlman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, IRAQ's goal looked a bit too open when Algot Stålman came free, but Hampus Kihlman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hampus Kihlman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Algot Stålman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Algot Stålman in the 74th minute of play forced IRAQ's goalkeeper Hampus Kihlman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
