Pål Gunnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Åström having to interfere. Elof Lindsten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Torsten Larsfält came out and tried to block the shot, but Elof Lindsten slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute, Pål Gunnarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pål Gunnarsson scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johannes Åström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 29 minutes, Alvar Sandberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Claret Blue FC and the Örebro Syrianska IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Claret Blue FC's Alvar Sandberg got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 31st match minute, Claret Blue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Ekrot to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Pål Gunnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johannes Åström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dick Skark in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Örebro Syrianska IF getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Herbert Gråberg hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pål Gunnarsson in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johannes Åström saved Örebro Syrianska IF from getting behind. If Elof Lindsten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dick Skark to make the kick off. When Örebro Syrianska IF's Jan-Olof Eliasson in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Claret Blue FC's goalie prevented a goal. Örebro Syrianska IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elof Lindsten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Jan-Olof Eliasson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jan-Olof Eliasson came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Örebro Syrianska IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Olof Eliasson couldn't finish the play. Dick Skark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pontus Hurtig kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dick Skark in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johannes Åström saved Örebro Syrianska IF from getting behind. Örebro Syrianska IF's Johannes Åström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Skark in the 85th minute of play. Herbert Gråberg hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Dick Skark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johannes Åström came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Claret Blue FC's Dick Skark. But to his dismay, Dick Skark quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Claret Blue FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Claret Blue FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
