Robert Forsman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anders Öberg having to interfere. When Magnus Wennerlund fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vallda's protests and gave Magnus Wennerlund a yellow card for diving instead. Magnus Wennerlund hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. If Stefan Hylander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Sjögren's late challenge caught a FC Internazionale Milano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Sjögren helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Vallda getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dan Sjögren hit a great ball. Vallda's Anders Öberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Forsman in the 24th minute of play. Stefan Hylander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Anders Öberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Stefan Hylander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Stefan Hylander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th match minute, FC Internazionale Milano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Forsman to maneuver through the defense. Reine Sävström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gottfrid Fredriksson having to make a save. Gottfrid Fredriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reine Sävström in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Robert Forsman made the kick off in the second half. Reine Sävström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Fredriksson having to interfere. Robert Forsman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Forsman in the 63rd minute of play forced Vallda's goalkeeper Anders Öberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gottfrid Fredriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Wahlström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reine Sävström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anders Öberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Forsman in the 71st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vallda's Mats Persson got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Robert Forsman might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anders Öberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Forsman ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute, Reine Sävström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vallda's zone, Robert Forsman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anders Öberg came out of the goal and Robert Forsman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Despite being the better team, FC Internazionale Milano failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
