The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Ljungbyhed was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilhelm Abelsson to maneuver through the defense. Edvard Vennerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Alrot in the 8th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Karl-Oskar Västerstrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ljungbyhed booed when Brynäs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Blomkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Tom Törnkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brynäs IF's Edvard Vennerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Alrot in the 27th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Alrot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvard Vennerberg was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Ljungbyhed's Rickard Kjellman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Oskar Västerstrand in the 29th minute of play. Karl-Oskar Västerstrand who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Rickard Kjellman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Karl-Oskar Västerstrand's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Rickard Kjellman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 34 played minutes Brynäs IF got a freekick which was hit by Harald Hellström. 35 minutes into the match, Melker Majman notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Brynäs IF's Edvard Vennerberg. Edvard Vennerberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Ljungbyhed getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Tom Törnkvist hit a great ball. Arne Hedvall was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, one of Brynäs IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brynäs IF. The Brynäs IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ljungbyhed were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Oskar Västerstrand stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Karl-Oskar Västerstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rickard Kjellman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 minutes of play, Ljungbyhed's Melker Majman made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ljungbyhed's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brynäs IF the free kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Oskar Västerstrand couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ljungbyhed's Tom Törnkvist got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Kim Sundberg charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kim Sundberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes Ljungbyhed got a freekick which was hit by Kim Sundberg. Karl-Oskar Västerstrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Rickard Kjellman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Tom Törnkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ljungbyhed's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brynäs IF the free kick. Ian Strand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ljungbyhed eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
