Ingmar Igelström hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Per-Arne Örtendal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Telin having to interfere. Emil Sundström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th match minute, Vartofta BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lennart Fagrell to maneuver through the defense. If Nils-Åke Stenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Vartofta BF's Ted Persson got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 23 minutes of play, Kinnarp IF's Alvar Forss made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fritz Lundqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th match minute, Kinnarp IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Nordström to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Stellan Sjögren from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Kurt Telin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 30 minutes, Knut Lustig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vartofta BF and the Kinnarp IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kinnarp IF booed when Vartofta BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Knut Lustig didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Alvar Forss's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fritz Lundqvist was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Alvar Forss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fritz Lundqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alvar Forss made a kick off. Kinnarp IF's Nils-Åke Stenberg got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurt Telin came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Vartofta BF's Emil Sundström. But to his dismay, Emil Sundström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nils-Åke Stenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Alvar Forss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fritz Lundqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Per-Arne Örtendal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vartofta BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Arne Örtendal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kurt Telin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kinnarp IF's Kurt Telin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Sundström in the 86th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
