Lennart Kråk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliott Olsman having to interfere. Elliott Olsman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Kråk, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th play minute Rune Holmgren came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcus Hedvall. 1-0. With an all-out effort, Djurgårdens IF's Marcus Hedvall threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dan Hjelm, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Vaggeryd's zone, Rune Holmgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Hedvall came out of the goal and Rune Holmgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Djurgårdens IF's Dan Hjelm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Hedvall narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Vaggeryd's Ian Busk got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the game, Dan Hjelm recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcus Hedvall. Dan Hjelm showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Ernst Malmberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliott Olsman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Ernst Malmberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th match minute, Djurgårdens IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Ståhlberg to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Ernst Malmberg notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Djurgårdens IF's Elliott Olsman. Elliott Olsman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Elliott Olsman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernst Malmberg went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernst Malmberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcus Hedvall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Hjelm, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Ernst Malmberg's late challenge caught a Djurgårdens IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernst Malmberg helped the player get up and apologised. Vaggeryd's Marcus Hedvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Hjelm in the 56th minute of play. Dan Hjelm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Hjelm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th match minute, Vaggeryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lennart Kråk to maneuver through the defense. Vaggeryd's Marcus Hedvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Brolin in the 86th minute of play. Marcus Hedvall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Hjelm in the 87th minute of the match. Vaggeryd's Marcus Hedvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Holmgren in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Dan Hjelm notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Vaggeryd's Marcus Hedvall. Marcus Hedvall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcus Hedvall didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Hjelm went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Djurgårdens IF were victorious despite being under pressure from Vaggeryd for much of the match.
