After 10 minutes of play, AC Järna's Jonas Simonsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilhelm Biörnberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! 14 minutes into the match, David's Erik Blomqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kjell-Arne Bergström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 14 played minutes AC Järna got a freekick which was hit by Sakarias Brolin. In the 17th minute of the match David got a corner. AC Järna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leif Berglund ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Jonas Simonsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Kåre Bergvall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kjell-Arne Bergström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 32 played minutes David got a freekick which was hit by Kalle Wall. 35 minutes into the match, David's goal looked a bit too open when Kåre Bergvall came free, but Wilhelm Biörnberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David's Wilhelm Biörnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kåre Bergvall in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, AC Järna's Kåre Bergvall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilhelm Biörnberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Kåre Bergvall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Jonas Simonsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Järna's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Simonsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Biörnberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kåre Bergvall to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Simonsson in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilhelm Biörnberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kjell-Arne Bergström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Blomqvist in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, AC Järna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timmy Åberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Järna's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Bergström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Kåre Bergvall came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the AC Järna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kåre Bergvall couldn't finish the play. Jonas Simonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Wilhelm Biörnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the David defense, Kåre Bergvall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilhelm Biörnberg. The David fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilhelm Biörnberg should have stopped the shot. Sven Ström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Bergström having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Sven Ström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. David's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Ström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Blomqvist in the 85th minute of play forced AC Järna's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Bergström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Erik Blomqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell-Arne Bergström was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AC Järna had won after a very even match.
