The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Grimstorp IK got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Wallgren. Michael Kaxe charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Kaxe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Michael Kaxe kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Fredric Åkerström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grimstorp IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Fredric Åkerström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calle Fernström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th play minute Fredric Åkerström came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Calle Fernström. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Fredric Åkerström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grimstorp IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Fredric Åkerström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calle Fernström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Felix Alén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Vase saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Grimstorp IK's goal looked a bit too open when Rikard Törnqvist came free, but Olle Vase reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Michael Bohlin kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Olle Vase made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rikard Törnqvist in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Felix Alén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Vase saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredric Åkerström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rikard Törnqvist in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olle Vase prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Rikard Törnqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Alén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rikard Törnqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Olle Vase tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Alén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olle Vase having to interfere. Felix Alén might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olle Vase. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Alén ran back to his position shaking his head. The Furuvik FF fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Furuvik FF's Rikard Törnqvist looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eric Back to make the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grimstorp IK's goalkeeper Olle Vase, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rikard Törnqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Felix Alén came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Furuvik FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Alén couldn't finish the play. Rikard Törnqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Olle Vase tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Rikard Törnqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Vase saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rikard Törnqvist came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Furuvik FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rikard Törnqvist couldn't finish the play. During the 70th minute of the match Michael Kaxe completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Michael Kaxe a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 70 played minutes Furuvik FF got a freekick which was hit by Michael Kaxe. 78 minutes into the match, Felix Alén notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Grimstorp IK's Olle Vase. Olle Vase was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calle Fernström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredric Åkerström in the 83rd minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Felix Alén managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Furuvik FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Alén was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Felix Alén had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olle Vase. Grimstorp IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Alén was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The Grimstorp IK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Furuvik FF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
