WeenZ United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Lindström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Kalle Rydelius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melker Martinsson was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Sven Stenquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Melker Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Stenquist in the 25th minute of play forced WeenZ United's goalkeeper Melker Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Sven Stenquist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lyckeby FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bo Brodin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sven Stenquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Melker Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Per-Åke Vidman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Brodin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bo Brodin to make the kick off. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
