Mathias Bergvall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Björn Nyberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Giant Heron's zone, Mathias Bergvall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Björn Nyberg came out of the goal and Mathias Bergvall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kim Öfverman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Öfverman in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Björn Nyberg saved Giant Heron from getting behind. Torgny Lindell made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Folke Pihlberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 31stth minute of the game Kenneth Pålsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malmbäck's Torgny Lindell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Folke Pihlberg got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Kenneth Pålsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giant Heron's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenneth Pålsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torgny Lindell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kenneth Pålsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
