Stefan Engström hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Strömsbruk's goal looked a bit too open when Jens-Erik Åström came free, but Hannes Siöman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Strömsbruk fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Strömsbruk defense, Sonny Biörkman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannes Siöman. The Strömsbruk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannes Siöman should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stolpskottens BK's goalkeeper Marc Blom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marc Blom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell-Arne Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tom Torstensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Stefan Engström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jens-Erik Åström was the one to do the kick off. Marc Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell-Arne Nilsson in the 66th minute of play. Tom Torstensson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stolpskottens BK's Marc Blom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell-Arne Nilsson in the 73rd minute of play. Kjell-Arne Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claes Möller kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Stolpskottens BK's Marc Blom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Torstensson in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Kjell-Arne Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strömsbruk's supporters rose to their feet, but Kjell-Arne Nilsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Blom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Ljungberg charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Ljungberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Stolpskottens BK getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Martin Ljungberg hit a great ball. If Tom Torstensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd match minute, Strömsbruk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell-Arne Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. After 96 played minutes Strömsbruk got a freekick which was hit by Björn Magnusson. Sonny Biörkman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hannes Siöman. Strömsbruk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stolpskottens BK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Strömsbruk had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
