Stefan Björk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svante Brander in the 14th minute of the match. Stefan Björk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Fristedt in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute Simon Ahlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Björk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gösta Fristedt's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After 28 played minutes 1891 Djurgården got a freekick which was hit by Inge Anundsson. Gösta Fristedt hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hässelby FF's goalkeeper Kalle Låsberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Svanström in the 46th minute of play forced 1891 Djurgården's goalkeeper Stefan Björk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Hässelby FF were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Svante Brander scored 0-4 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stefan Björk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Andreas Hellqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Stefan Björk made a huge save. If Svante Brander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stefan Björk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Svante Brander in the 70th minute. In the 72nd match minute, Hässelby FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svante Brander to maneuver through the defense. Dick Martinsson charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
