Sture Widberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stellan Hedvall could save by the left post. Patric Norström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Asklöv went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Slottsbron BK booed when Nybro IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Alefors didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Asklöv fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patric Norström having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Nybro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Thor Abrahamsson came free, but Patric Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stellan Hedvall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Sävström in the 21st minute of the match. Slottsbron BK's Patrick Asklöv suffered a sore thigh after 28 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 29th match minute, Nybro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Oskar Vennerberg to maneuver through the defense. Christian Sävström might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stellan Hedvall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Sävström ran back to his position shaking his head. Patric Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thor Abrahamsson in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Sävström was the one to do the kick off. Christian Sävström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Sävström in the 53rd minute of play forced Slottsbron BK's goalkeeper Stellan Hedvall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thor Abrahamsson succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Stellan Hedvall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claes Kihlman in the 63rd minute of the match. Sture Widberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Stellan Hedvall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Slottsbron BK got a freekick which was hit by Helge Molander. After 79 played minutes, Nybro IF's Karl-Oskar Vennerberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stellan Hedvall came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nybro IF reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Slottsbron BK's zone, Christian Sävström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stellan Hedvall came out of the goal and Christian Sävström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Sävström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Stellan Hedvall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sture Widberg struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Stellan Hedvall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nybro IF. After a rather tough play, Slottsbron BK's Roy Broman got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Slottsbron BK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Slottsbron BK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
