Spectators: 7262 (Terracing: 5448, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) Södra Vi's Karl Wennerquist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Karl Wennerquist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Södra Vi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Stenungsund's Jonas Kvick got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tobias Olsson in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ulf Giöck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Charles Backlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Lindblom in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Karl Wennerquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Backlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Karl Wennerquist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charles Backlund. Stenungsund's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl Wennerquist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Wennerquist in the 28th minute of play forced Stenungsund's goalkeeper Charles Backlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Conny Lindblom made a precise shot to the right of Charles Backlund. Stenungsund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 40 minutes into the match, Stenungsund's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Anundsson came free, but Charles Backlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulf Giöck was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rune Axelsson. 1-4 came in the 45th minute when Peter Bagge all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Charles Backlund.

The wind increased when Tobias Olsson made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Stenungsund's Charles Backlund got control of the ball when Staffan Anundsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Charles Backlund was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Conny Lindblom capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Conny Lindblom really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. In the 60th minute of the match Rune Axelsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ulf Giöck skillfully saved the ball. Stenungsund's Charles Backlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Bagge in the 62nd minute of play. Charles Backlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conny Lindblom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Karl Wennerquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Backlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulf Giöck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Olsson in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, Stenungsund's Alf Ståhlberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulf Giöck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Michael Karlsson during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Södra Vi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! 81 minutes into the game, Södra Vi's Conny Lindblom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Charles Backlund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-6. Ulf Giöck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Olsson in the 85th minute of the match. Karl Wennerquist received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Charles Backlund came out and tried to block the shot, but Karl Wennerquist slotted it home off the left post making it 3-7 in the 87th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Södra Vi's Conny Lindblom slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Charles Backlund. That made the score 3-8 after 91 minutes of play. 95 minutes into the game, Jonas Kvick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-8. Ulf Giöck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Södra Vi played a much better game than Stenungsund and deserved their victory. The Stenungsund players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
