John Jelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig-Ove Westerstrand having to interfere. If Jack Stenström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stig-Ove Westerstrand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Fernström in the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nyland's zone, John Jelm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig-Ove Westerstrand came out of the goal and John Jelm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 minutes, Oskar Lindqvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nyland and the Malmö FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Malmö FF's Eskil Helberg got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malmö FF's John Jelm got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stig-Ove Westerstrand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vincent Fernström in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute John Jelm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig-Ove Westerstrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nyland fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! Stig-Ove Westerstrand had in the 33rdth minute some difficulties stopping John Jelm's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Vincent Fernström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. John Jelm succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Vincent Fernström in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stig-Ove Westerstrand, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Stig-Ove Westerstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Jelm in the 42nd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jack Stenström made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Nyland defense, John Jelm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig-Ove Westerstrand. The Nyland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig-Ove Westerstrand should have stopped the shot. After 58 minutes of play, Malmö FF's John Jelm made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stig-Ove Westerstrand was left in no man's land by his defense there! If John Jelm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. John Jelm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Stig-Ove Westerstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Vincent Fernström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malmö FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincent Fernström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stig-Ove Westerstrand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Fernström in the 71st minute of play forced Nyland's goalkeeper Stig-Ove Westerstrand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Vincent Fernström sped through Nyland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stig-Ove Westerstrand. 78 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's John Jelm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stig-Ove Westerstrand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. John Jelm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Malmö FF's John Jelm got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Jelm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Stig-Ove Westerstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malmö FF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
