In the 59th minute Mattias Sandberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gösta Hammarström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Fernström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Björn Harlén when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Malmö FF's John Jelm got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inge Rudkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Björn Harlén made a huge save. With a little luck, Fagersta bruk's Björn Harlén got control of the ball when Vincent Fernström tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Jelm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Jelm in the 97th minute of play forced Fagersta bruk's goalkeeper Björn Harlén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Inge Rudkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Björn Harlén was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. The Fagersta bruk fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Malmö FF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
