Ingvar Larsfält fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uno Biörling having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Degerfors BK's Maximilian Haraldsson got a free kick in the 28th minute. Karl-Johan Busk hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Degerfors BK's Uno Biörling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Larsfält in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Rydöbruk FK getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Johnny Lundgren hit a great ball. Stig Lundgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Häger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Degerfors BK's Pelle Fransson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stig Lundgren in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 47th minute Ingvar Larsfält shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uno Biörling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Rydöbruk FK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingvar Larsfält was the one to do the kick off.
