Måns Mårtensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andreas Esbjörnsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Måns Mårtensson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute of the match Torbjörn Wennerlund sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sten Sefastsson skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Los Payasos's Andreas Esbjörnsson got control of the ball when Måns Mårtensson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute, Årjäng FF's Klas Ekström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Måns Mårtensson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Andreas Esbjörnsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klas Ekström in the 43rd minute of play forced Los Payasos's goalkeeper Andreas Esbjörnsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klas Ekström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andreas Esbjörnsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Klas Ekström was the one to do the kick off. Andreas Esbjörnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Måns Mårtensson in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Årjäng FF's goalkeeper Sten Sefastsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Måns Mårtensson struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Andreas Esbjörnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Årjäng FF. In the 84th minute, Elias Gråberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Årjäng FF's Måns Mårtensson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Årjäng FF's goalkeeper Sten Sefastsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Los Payasos defense, Klas Ekström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andreas Esbjörnsson. The Los Payasos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Esbjörnsson should have stopped the shot. Michael Vallman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Sten Sefastsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
