The audience was convinced that Daniel Johnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Philip Dalman was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Tim Strömqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Dalman having to interfere. If Daniel Johnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Niklas Rolfsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthias Offendahl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niklas Rolfsson went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Philip Dalman made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Tim Strömqvist sent off a good shot on target. If Daniel Johnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the game, Stefan Algren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nottingham Forest FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brandstorp IFK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Nottingham Forest FC's Stefan Algren got a free kick in the 40th minute. Nottingham Forest FC's Philip Dalman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Nottingham Forest FC from getting a goal against them. Daniel Johnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Dalman having to interfere. Tim Strömqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sakarias Ekberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Philip Dalman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tim Strömqvist made a kick off. Tim Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Nottingham Forest FC's zone, Sakarias Ekberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Dalman came out of the goal and Sakarias Ekberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 59th minute of the match Stefan Algren completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Stefan Algren a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Nottingham Forest FC's Stefan Algren got a free kick in the 60th minute. Philip Dalman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tim Strömqvist's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Tim Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67thth minute of the game Daniel Johnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nottingham Forest FC's Philip Dalman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tim Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tim Strömqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sakarias Ekberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Dalman having to interfere. After 84 minutes of play Nottingham Forest FC's Henric Fransson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Brandstorp IFK booed when Nottingham Forest FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henric Fransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sakarias Ekberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nottingham Forest FC's Philip Dalman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Strömqvist in the 92nd minute of play. The Brandstorp IFK manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Nottingham Forest FC to win.
