Stensele IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Boman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vilhelm Hjortsberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Max Söderberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kennet Delin hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Max Söderberg in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vilhelm Hjortsberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Sävsjö BF's Vilhelm Hjortsberg got control of the ball when Kurt Boman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kurt Boman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Max Söderberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vilhelm Hjortsberg, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Max Söderberg in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vilhelm Hjortsberg saved Sävsjö BF from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Jakobsson in the 26th minute of play forced Sävsjö BF's goalkeeper Vilhelm Hjortsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leif Albohm charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leif Albohm the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sävsjö BF getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Leif Albohm hit a great ball. Jan Jakobsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, Jan Jakobsson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Max Söderberg got free with Vilhelm Hjortsberg in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tor Uggstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Vilhelm Hjortsberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sävsjö BF's Vilhelm Hjortsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Söderberg in the 41st minute of play. Max Söderberg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Vilhelm Hjortsberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 43 minutes, Viktor Glanselius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sävsjö BF and the Stensele IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Viktor Glanselius hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Vilhelm Hjortsberg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tor Uggstedt. Vilhelm Hjortsberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Björk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kennet Delin was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Max Söderberg notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sävsjö BF's Vilhelm Hjortsberg. Vilhelm Hjortsberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Stensele IK's Max Söderberg in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sävsjö BF's goalie prevented a goal. Vilhelm Hjortsberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Söderberg in the 68th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Sävsjö BF got a freekick which was hit by Kennet Delin. Stensele IK made a substitution. Hans Gunnarsson replaced Jan Jakobsson. After a rather tough play, Sävsjö BF's Kennet Delin got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Vilhelm Hjortsberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Söderberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Max Söderberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stensele IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 83 minutes into the match, Sävsjö BF's goal looked a bit too open when Max Söderberg came free, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stensele IK's Hans Gunnarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stensele IK's August Ingemarsson was substituted for Alfred Pettersson. Max Söderberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilhelm Hjortsberg having to interfere. Vilhelm Hjortsberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Gunnarsson in the 93rd minute of the match.
