Elliot Snell started the match with the kick off. Erling Karlstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliot Snell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erling Karlstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oskar Åhlberg's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's Elliot Snell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erling Karlstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliot Snell in the 17th minute of play forced Broaryd's goalkeeper Erling Karlstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Malmö FF's Tor Lundhberg got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Oskar Åhlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Malmö FF's Elliot Snell in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Broaryd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elliot Snell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Oskar Åhlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erling Karlstedt having to interfere. Broaryd's Erling Karlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliot Snell in the 47th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that George Odman got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Erling Karlstedt quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl-Ove Månsson made a kick off. Oskar Åhlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erling Karlstedt having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Broaryd's goalkeeper Erling Karlstedt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oskar Åhlberg. In the 63rd minute Elliot Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erling Karlstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Elliot Snell got free in front of the goal in the 64th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Erling Karlstedt was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, Broaryd's Erling Karlstedt got control of the ball when Oskar Åhlberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oskar Åhlberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Erling Karlstedt made a huge save. Elliot Snell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Erling Karlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malmö FF's Oskar Åhlberg got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's Elliot Snell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erling Karlstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Malmö FF's Claes Ahlkvist got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the match Ivar Lindell shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michel Hansson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 89th minute, Tor Lundhberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oskar Åhlberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Erling Karlstedt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Elliot Snell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erling Karlstedt having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Malmö FF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
