The referee ignored Röda koalorna IF's protests and gave Hans Persson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Röda koalorna IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Persson to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Alstermo's Jens-Ola Kullgren tried to score from far away in the 14th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Anthon Gunnarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johannes Pilgren in the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Johannes Pilgren notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Alstermo's Anthon Gunnarsson. Anthon Gunnarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johannes Pilgren in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anthon Gunnarsson saved Alstermo from getting behind. Röda koalorna IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Johannes Pilgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anthon Gunnarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 46 minutes, Johannes Pilgren made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Alstermo's Anthon Gunnarsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Åke Västberg was the one to do the kick off. Anthon Gunnarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johannes Pilgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Pilgren in the 61st minute of play forced Alstermo's goalkeeper Anthon Gunnarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johannes Pilgren couldn't finish the play. Karl-Åke Västberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Börje Sjödin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Röda koalorna IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Alstermo throughout the match.
