Christer Hedling who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Johnny Lundblad when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Gudhem RK's zone, Vilgot Alebom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Lundblad came out of the goal and Vilgot Alebom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sektion Retro Stockholm's Vidar Axelsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnny Lundblad. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Vidar Axelsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Lundblad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vidar Axelsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Vilgot Alebom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Lundblad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sektion Retro Stockholm's Jens-Åke Larsfelt got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 30th play minutes Bengt-Åke Pettersson shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Arne Löv and just under the crossbar into goal. Arne Löv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 41st minute, Christer Hedling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens-Åke Larsfelt got free with Johnny Lundblad in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Jens-Åke Larsfelt took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Johnny Lundblad to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Håkan Åkesson made the kick off in the second half. Håkan Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Löv having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Vilgot Alebom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sektion Retro Stockholm's supporters rose to their feet, but Vilgot Alebom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Lundblad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Sektion Retro Stockholm booed when Gudhem RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Ekeberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lennart Emander kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Christer Hedling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Christer Hedling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sektion Retro Stockholm's Jens-Åke Larsfelt got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Åke Larsfelt in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Lundblad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gudhem RK's goalkeeper Johnny Lundblad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Johnny Lundblad came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sektion Retro Stockholm's Vidar Axelsson. But to his dismay, Vidar Axelsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Hedling in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Lundblad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Johnny Lundblad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilgot Alebom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the game, Sektion Retro Stockholm's Vidar Axelsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnny Lundblad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Hedling in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Lundblad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Johnny Lundblad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vidar Axelsson's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. After having played for 98 minutes, Jens-Åke Larsfelt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sektion Retro Stockholm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jens-Åke Larsfelt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sektion Retro Stockholm had played much better football throughout.
