The supporters of Östra Ryd booed when Franska Björnstammen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petter Göransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dick Bergström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Johnsson in the 6th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Ingvar Johnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Bergström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Evert Apelqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Franska Björnstammen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Östra Ryd the free kick. After a rather tough play, Franska Björnstammen's Evert Apelqvist got a free kick in the 12th minute. If Sverker Walroth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim Löfkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dick Bergström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Johnsson in the 18th minute of play. Dick Bergström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jim Löfkvist's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Östra Ryd's Roger Jönsson got a free kick in the 24th minute. Franska Björnstammen's Hannes Löv was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 26th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Ingvar Johnsson ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Franska Björnstammen getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Erik Tingelholm hit a great ball. Markus Haström was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hannes Löv might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Ingemarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hannes Löv ran back to his position shaking his head. Roger Jönsson was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 47th minute, Roger Jönsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Löfkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Östra Ryd got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Johnsson. When Niklas Holm came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Franska Björnstammen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niklas Holm couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Östra Ryd's Reine Hedman got a free kick in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Östra Ryd's zone, Hannes Löv stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Ingemarsson came out of the goal and Hannes Löv tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 minutes, Reine Hedman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Östra Ryd and the Franska Björnstammen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Östra Ryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reine Hedman to maneuver through the defense. If Niklas Holm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Östra Ryd's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Löv came free, but Martin Ingemarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Franska Björnstammen's goalkeeper Dick Bergström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jim Löfkvist. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim Löfkvist got free with Dick Bergström in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sverker Walroth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Östra Ryd's Vidar Smitt got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ingvar Johnsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dick Bergström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Östra Ryd's Sverker Walroth got a free kick in the 86th minute. Reine Hedman struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Dick Bergström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Östra Ryd. Håkan Bengtsson hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Jim Löfkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, Franska Björnstammen could leave the field as winners, despite Östra Ryd having more of the ball for most of the match.
