Tor Lövgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bo Olsson in the 12th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Bernt Bergqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Garphyltan's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernt Bergqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tor Lövgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tor Lövgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Sjöberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Otto Nordstedt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Vilhelm Trulsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kenneth Skark hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. With a little luck, IFK Garphyltan's Vilhelm Trulsson got control of the ball when Jakob Stål tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernt Bergqvist made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Kent Ahlström made a precise shot to the right of Vilhelm Trulsson. IFK Garphyltan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Alingsås's Otto Nordstedt got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, IFK Garphyltan's Alvin Blanck got a free kick in the 69th minute. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
