With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per-Olof Sandwall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, DIF Fotboll's Bertil Andreasson got a free kick in the 16th minute. Sundbyberg RK's Oskar Sandberg got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 minutes, Bertil Andreasson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DIF Fotboll and the Sundbyberg RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sundbyberg RK booed when DIF Fotboll was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertil Andreasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sundbyberg RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DIF Fotboll the free kick. The audience was convinced that Ingvar Sandström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Öfverman was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Henric Wästerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sundbyberg RK's Leonardo Öfverman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Sandström in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Ingvar Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIF Fotboll's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingvar Sandström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustav Wennerberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Öfverman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustav Wennerberg ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oskar Sandberg to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Ingvar Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Öfverman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustav Wennerberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Per-Olof Sandwall showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DIF Fotboll's zone, Mats Bergman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Olof Sandwall came out of the goal and Mats Bergman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 played minutes Sundbyberg RK got a freekick which was hit by Göran Esbjörnsson. If Gustav Wennerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sundbyberg RK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
