After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Adrian Martinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kakujin FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Adrian Martinsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kjell-Arne Hellqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute, Richard Utter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Töreboda IK booed when Kakujin FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Bjurström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute Douglas Fanström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torgny Tidéksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torgny Tidéksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kim Nyman in the 27th minute. Douglas Fanström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Torgny Tidéksson having to make a save. Torgny Tidéksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Fanström in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Valdemar Bjurström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torgny Tidéksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Fanström, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Göran Hammarbäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Kjell-Arne Hellqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Douglas Fanström sped through Kakujin FF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Torgny Tidéksson. After having played for 89 minutes, Åke Vennerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kakujin FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Vennerberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joakim Tomasson charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joakim Tomasson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Töreboda IK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
