Ekeby IFK's Tim Rudkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Åke Borre in the 7th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ekeby IFK's Petter Frisck got a free kick in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ekeby IFK's zone, Kaj Strömberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Rudkvist came out of the goal and Kaj Strömberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, VSK SK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Richard Åman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ekeby IFK's Richard Åman got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tim Lundin kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Ted Sander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orvar Backlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esbjörn Vestlund hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Ted Sander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Kennet Bure made a huge save. Kennet Bure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Åman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kennet Bure showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Åman, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. After 51 minutes VSK SK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leonardo Glanselius who took care of the corner kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Ekeby IFK defense, Per-Åke Borre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tim Rudkvist. The Ekeby IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tim Rudkvist should have stopped the shot. If Per-Åke Borre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 76 in the game by Orvar Backlund from a close distance when the talented Tim Rudkvist managed to make a qualified save. Ekeby IFK's players were relieved. After 80 minutes of play, VSK SK's Per-Åke Borre made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Rudkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kennet Bure showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Åman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dan Bergman during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ekeby IFK's Dan Bergman got a free kick in the 85th minute. When Richard Åman came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ekeby IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Åman couldn't finish the play. If Ted Sander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Åman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. VSK SK's Kennet Bure played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Åman in the 96th minute of play. The Ekeby IFK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching VSK SK's performance. The match ended with a win for VSK SK.
