Spectators: 6677 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonny Jelm started the match with the kick off. In the 6th match minute, Sporting CP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Berglund to maneuver through the defense. Jesper Enegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonny Jelm, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Winström in the 15th minute of play forced Sporting CP's goalkeeper Jesper Enegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Ahlroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Emil Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars-Erik Odeen kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Jonny Jelm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Ahlroth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils-Emil Hermansson in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Ekshärad's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Emil Hermansson came free, but Allan Ahlroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Sporting CP's Jesper Enegren got control of the ball when Stefan Winström tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Stefan Winström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ekshärad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Winström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefan Winström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jesper Enegren made a huge save. Jonny Rydelius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Allan Ahlroth having to make a save. When Bernt Ström fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ekshärad's protests and gave Bernt Ström a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ekshärad's Bernt Ström got a free kick in the 67th minute. Nils-Emil Hermansson kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Ekshärad's Allan Ahlroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonny Rydelius in the 72nd minute of play. Allan Ahlroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Emil Hermansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Nils-Emil Hermansson took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Allan Ahlroth. Allan Ahlroth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1.
