Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fredrik Melander in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konrad Gustavsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ulf Nyström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Gustaf Eriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th match minute, Spirit of Shankly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Linus Gerdberg to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Spirit of Shankly getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Folke Danielsson hit a great ball. Fredrik Melander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 minutes, Nils-Emil Qvarnström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kvarnö FC and the Spirit of Shankly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Kvarnö FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Emil Qvarnström to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the game, Spirit of Shankly's Fredrik Melander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Konrad Gustavsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fredrik Melander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ulf Nyström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Konrad Gustavsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Konrad Gustavsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Melander in the 37th minute of play. Fredrik Melander struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Konrad Gustavsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spirit of Shankly. Spirit of Shankly's Folke Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Spirit of Shankly getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Örjan Linqvist hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Gustaf Eriksson managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. After the first half Spirit of Shankly were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olof Strandberg to make the kick off. After 62 played minutes Kvarnö FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustaf Eriksson. The supporters of Spirit of Shankly booed when Kvarnö FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oskar Melberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sverker Johansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olof Strandberg in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Kvarnö FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ulf Nyström fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fredrik Melander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Konrad Gustavsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Kvarnö FC booed when Spirit of Shankly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Wallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spirit of Shankly played a much better game than Kvarnö FC and deserved their victory. The Kvarnö FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
