Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gunnar Pihlblad got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Sven-Edvin Ahlbeck made a precise shot to the right of Ivar Kihlberg. Solberg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ivar Kihlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evert Vassenius, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Sven-Edvin Ahlbeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivar Kihlberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michael Söderström went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 41 played minutes Mölndal got a freekick which was hit by Lars Sjögren. Sven-Oskar Kjellkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Bengt-Arne Browald made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Edvin Ahlbeck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bengt-Arne Browald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Pihlblad in the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gunnar Pihlblad in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt-Arne Browald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 61 minutes, Karl-Johan Lundin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Solberg and the Mölndal players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Solberg getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Karl-Johan Lundin hit a great ball. Gunnar Pihlblad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Bengt-Arne Browald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Mölndal's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Pihlblad came free, but Bengt-Arne Browald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michael Söderström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mölndal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bengt Eklund ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Karl-Johan Lundin heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Sven-Edvin Ahlbeck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ivar Kihlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes of play, Mölndal's Michael Söderström made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivar Kihlberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastian Lindström during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mölndal's Bengt-Arne Browald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Oskar Kjellkvist in the 91st minute of play. Bengt-Arne Browald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Kjellkvist in the 98th minute of play.
