Spectators: 7298 (Terracing: 5475, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 145) Fighting Irish Notre Dame's Tomas Åkesson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jerzy Sala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Kleen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orvar Jakobsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerzy Sala having to interfere. If Luciano Contratas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 15 minutes, Orvar Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lyrestad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orvar Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jerzy Sala came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyrestad's Orvar Jakobsson. But to his dismay, Orvar Jakobsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Orvar Jakobsson scored 2-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerzy Sala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jerzy Sala made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Orvar Jakobsson sent off a good shot on target. Henry Bredberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Contratas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jens-Erik Sundling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Åkesson in the 37th minute of play. Tomas Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, Fighting Irish Notre Dame's Tomas Åkesson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens-Erik Sundling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aleksander Kleen to make the kick off. Tomas Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Fighting Irish Notre Dame:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lyrestad:s goal. In the 63rd minute, Lyrestad's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luciano Contratas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aleksander Kleen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute Aleksander Kleen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerzy Sala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerzy Sala came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyrestad's Aleksander Kleen. But to his dismay, Aleksander Kleen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 77th minute Tomas Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Erik Sundling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Åkesson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jens-Erik Sundling read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. If Tomas Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Fighting Irish Notre Dame's Henry Bredberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jens-Erik Sundling. That made the score 4-2 after 84 minutes of play. When Tomas Åkesson came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Fighting Irish Notre Dame fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Åkesson couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Henry Bredberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Aleksander Kleen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Lyrestad were victorious despite being under pressure from Fighting Irish Notre Dame for much of the match.
