The audience was convinced that Birger Sjöö's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Erik Brodin was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Knut Back in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torbjörn Söder saved Lycksele from getting behind. Torbjörn Söder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Knut Back, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Lycksele getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Stig Glad hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Roger Eklund sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lycksele's Torbjörn Söder didn't even have to move. Knut Back sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st play minute Birger Sjöö came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nils-Erik Brodin. 1-0. If Börje Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sören Ståhlman kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Börje Åberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Erik Brodin having to interfere. Torbjörn Söder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Linus Strömqvist in the 44th minute of the match. Mjölby FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Börje Åberg scored to the left of an out of position Nils-Erik Brodin, making the score, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Börje Åberg made the kick off in the second half. If Knut Back had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torbjörn Söder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Linus Strömqvist's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Mjölby FK's Anton Klemensson got a free kick in the 58th minute. Nils-Erik Brodin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When Knut Back came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Mjölby FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Knut Back couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Back got free with Torbjörn Söder in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Lycksele getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Krister Lundqvist hit a great ball. Knut Back received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Torbjörn Söder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torbjörn Söder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Knut Back in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Lycksele's Fabian Biörkman got a free kick in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Mjölby FK's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Åberg came free, but Nils-Erik Brodin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mjölby FK's Linus Strömqvist was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 94 played minutes Mjölby FK got a freekick which was hit by Anton Klemensson. Börje Åberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lycksele's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
